Vibe: Cozy, like visiting an older home — a warm contrast to the modern IKEA-style coffee shop

It's unbelievable to me that it's 2026 and it took until just under a year ago for Lehi to get its very first non-chain coffee shop. There are plenty of Starbucks and Beans & Brews, even the little spot inside the Harmons on Traverse Mountain, but an independent coffee shop you'd find on some kind of strip mall being a first in the last year is genuinely surprising.

When I first saw signs of Porch Coffee coming in on Main Street, it looked like it was going to be a little three-table spot at the end of a strip mall. When they were getting started, they had their coffee truck out front, and I figured this was just going to be a small venture for the truck. I was very pleasantly surprised when I took my kids there before school for a snack and saw it's actually a very sizable coffee shop with tons of seating.

It has a little bit of everything — good seating for people who want to work on laptops, cozy living-room seating with couches, bigger tables for groups, board games, books. The snacks are decent, though I do wish there were more protein options. The ambiance is cozy, a little like visiting an older home, which is a nice contrast against the modern IKEA-style coffee shops you see everywhere. Big props to the owner, and I hope they look at expanding to other spots.
